Team USA wins again and Olympic thoughts

I don't think I've ever seen Kobe's genuine smile until they won the gold medal. Everyone seemed very happy. I actually cheered for the Spanish team though since it's always more fun to cheer for the underdogs.

Overall, the Olympics was a huge time drainer in the past 2 weeks. NBC did a very good job of captivating me into watching all of these things I would normally not watch. I felt so much more emotion when they showed the losers than the winners since I can sympathize with them. They gave it their all but they still didn't win. You can see it in their faces on how hard they tried up to that point but still came up short. It's okay, I still think everyone did their best and they all get kudos from me for being brave enough to compete in the first place.

Gas is 4.20 a gallon...

...and it's awesome! I always hoped people would drive less. It's good for the environment and it makes the traffic better by not putting needless cars on the road.

Nothing much to say...

It's been a while since I've posted but there's not much to say other than:

- I got new glasses so I see better now.
- I've flirted with buying a new car but realized how poor I was.
- Work has really slowed down a lot.
- 401k still sucks.
- I'm still in middle of my 1 month trial of being a vegetarian.
- Voted Clinton but I'm still good if Obama wins.

Xbox 360

It's been a while. The last posting was on December 25, the day I got an Xbox 360. In short, 360 has awesome games, particularly Mass Effect (as pictured above). Only thing I don't like about the 360 is the hardware noise that it makes (it's LOUD) and the uneasiness of its legendary reliability. Other than that, the exclusive games for it are great.

Charlie Wilson's War

I was born in the 80's but they never teach you something so recent in history classes. I was pretty oblivious to world affairs when I was 8 so this movie was a very interesting history lesson for me. It's basically about the US involvement in Afghan-Soviet war in the mid-80's and how this congressmen played a role in it.

It's too bad that no one's going to the theaters to watch this since no one actually cares about reality. We'd rather watch ourselves get bombed with our own planes then go on to blame an uninvolved country.

Candidate thingie...

This thing tells you who to favor for presidential campaign:

http://abcnews.go.com/Politics/Vote2008/page?id=3623346

Mine were:
1. Dennis Kucinich
2. Barak Obama
3. Mike Gravel

It's too bad there will only be two choices come general election time and Kucinich's chance of winning the democratic ballot is low to none.

I am Legend

Story-wise, it's not as good as another movie in its genre, but it's scary as heck. I feel so traumatized.
